Everyday inspiration

I am a very visual person. When things don't "look" in place to me, it rocks my world. I am also easily stimulated by visual things. Place me in a beautiful garden setting I will be lost for hours. Take me to a museum of art and I can stare and study. Perhaps that why I love to photograph things and create art.

I find inspiration for my art in every day things.

Recently, I received a hostess gift in this gift bag. I loved the bright fun nature of the bag and thought, I would love to paint something fun like that. So I kept it in my art studio.

I coupled the shapes and bright colors of the bag with words that have been percolating in my mind for awhile based on my 2012 word of the year: Embrace.  Here is what I created:
