What in the world....

Sometimes my husband will come into my studio and see something laying around, something I have started but not yet finished.  He says very politely, "oh, what is this?", but his face is saying something like "what in the world????".

One such time was recently when I was creating a VERY LARGE canvas. It was mostly lots of layers of papers, paint, inks ~ just my artsy side getting it on.  I wasn't sure what I would create from it, I just knew I wanted something large and something colorful.

Here is what it looked like then:

I stared at it for quite a while and eventually saw an adorable giraffe in the canvas.  I kind of thought I saw an elephant too but I decided on giraffe. (I actually had started sketching the giraffe in this photo above, but forgot to take a picture before) Can you see the sketch?

And here is what he turned out to look like. I think he will look very cute in a playroom or child's bedroom!

I named him Ernest ~ what do you think?
