Making a list & checking it twice

I am a list person.  Always have been, and I guess I always will be.  I have some calendars from when I was in high school (I kept because I liked the art) and I have definite lists on my calendar dating back to when I was 14 years old.

There is something very peaceful about lists to me. It makes me feel like I have control and allows me to "forget" things because I can always refer back to "the list". So I keep pen and paper on my nightstand, or my phone which houses most of my lists these days.  I also get total gratification when I "check" things off and have even been known to add something on my list of things to do that I have already completed JUST so I can check it off!! My kids think I am crazy.  Anyone else speak my kind of crazy?

Today I was looking back at a list I made at the beginning of the year with business goals…big and small…and was pleasantly surprised at how many I reached, how many I was close to reaching and only two I know today for sure are not going to happen by the end of this month.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, but just to give you an idea.

Some of the goals I met were:

- Getting a website up and running (CHECK)
- Learn how to create video tutorials and post (CHECK)
- Minimum of two shows (CHECK)

The two I know I can not meet by the end of this month but will carry over to next year are:

- Getting published in Somerset magazine
- Creating my own stencils for purchase

Two of the ones that I am close to are:

- Getting 1,000 likes on my Kirsten Reed Designs Facebook page. I am currently at 932. Soooo close!
- Getting 100 new subscribers to this blog..I am only two people away!

So I am asking you if you will help me spread the word, post on FB, get others to visit this blog and sign up for subscription. To subscribe to this blog, just scroll up on the right column and type in your email where it asks you to get this delivered to your email box!

I know it is silly ~ but it would be so cool if I could check these two things off by the end of the year! And I would feel so much better getting to check two more boxes!! hahaha!

  1. I am not a list maker, but looks like you did many things this year and are just a hard worker, list or no list. Good for you and some beautiful work always from your hands. xox
